All Write Up North 2020 Short Story Competition
Wigan Libraries are running a writing competition for aspiring writers and illustrators. We will be producing a digital book of the shortlisted entries, which will be available from the Wigan Council website to download. The winners will also be published in The Writers and Readers magazine.
What do I need to do?
The theme is all things up north, so get your thinking flat caps on. Each story should be a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 1000 words. The story can be written in narrative, poetry or prose form. We are asking illustrators and artists to enter a front cover image in keeping with the above theme.
Entrants must be 16 and over, one entry per writer or illustrator, no mucky (rude) business and no language you wouldn’t use in front of your Nanna.
Enter the competition online – For illustrator and artists, you will also need to email your front cover image to the Library Transformation team. Prizes will be revealed shortly!
Winners will be announced on Saturday 8th February at our All Write Up North networking and workshop event in Wigan Library for aspiring writers, illustrators and anyone interested in creating and publishing books.
Competition closing date: Midnight, 20th January 2020.
