This show brings together three of the finest players to emerge from the ranks of Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra.
DAVID HITCHEN joined WYJO at age 13 and rapidly progressed to NYJO.
At age 24, having already spent 2 years with Monte Carlo orchestras, he joined Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a trumpeter & MD.
Since then he has travelled the world performing with many of the jazz greats as well as some of the most famous names in the popular music world.
He currently lives in southern France, where he leads a multinational big band.
RICHARD HALLIWELL is well-known at Wigan. As one of the earliest members of WYJO, he progressed to be the mainstay of the sax section and helped to develop many of the band’s players.
He has played in most of the North’s top big bands and is always in demand, as a superlative player and tutor.
DUNCAN WINFIELD led the WYJO trombone section and continues to play with many of the north’s top ensembles.
The DAN WHIELDON TRIO are well-known to Wigan audiences and are sure to provide the quality that the three soloists deserve.
