Introduction to Permaculture Course
Monday, 8th April ,2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Course is now free due to generous match funding! (see details at bottom of this page) – Limited Spaces.
***The course is 4 days long. It will run consecutively from 10am-4pm each day from Monday 8th April- Thursday 11th April. ***
The word ‘permaculture’ comes originally from ‘permanent agriculture’ and ‘permanent culture’ – it is about living lightly on the planet, and making sure that we can sustain human activities for many generations to come, in harmony with nature. We really need this now more than ever!
We will be using permaculture principles to design and transform the BookCycle garden into a bountiful food-garden.
The course will be facilitated by Teresa Pereira from The Northern School of Permaculture.
The course will help to plan and construct a garden that is accessible to all and encourages wildlife and nature to thrive.
The introduction to Permaculture course will go beyond the garden and offers the opportunity to share knowledge on social permaculture and its benefits. This gives you a holistic experience showing how the basic theory and the practical application of permaculture can be used in your personal life, at home, in your community and for wellbeing.
This course would normally cost well over £100 but Bookcycle is able to subsidise the course and make it affordable to all, so it’s now free
A light lunch included and provided by Wigan Vegan Community.
No knowledge of permaculture is necessary in order to attend this course. We welcome those aged 10 to 100. Children must be accompanied by a responsible, caring adult.
To secure your place please pay a £20 deposit to Bookcycle Beech Hill ASAP or online here. To show your commitment. This will be refunded at the end of Day 4 when you complete the course.
