The Something New Show

Thursday, 18th July @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Join us for the 2nd Anniversary of The Something New Show!

Casino Improv present an evening of Laughter, words and wiles. The Something New Show the most Wigan-ish evening of spoken word, poetry, improv, open mic and more.

This month, we are joined by poet Lydia Bernsmeier-Rullow and comic Tom Evans.

Lydia Bernsmeier-Rullow has been an emerging poet for 10 years. Struggles with mental health problems have led to prolific private writing, but no performance; they don’t call her @frustratedpoet for nothing!

She has created astute observational poetry on such topics as The Manchester Arena Bomb, LGBTQI issues and A lifetime of racist othering. This led to her being commissioned to write about the Windrush generation for the 70th Anniversary by Manchester Cathedral, and an invitation to read at Rainbow Noir’s 6th Birthday event

Lydia’s heritage is Mixed British Grenadian, and she is a second generation Caribbean immigrant born in Manchester.

Tom Evans is a stand up comedian from Wales. He’s energetic and quick witted and has strange tales and reactions to the crazy world we live in today. His comedy songs will leave you belly laughing and occasionally snickering to yourself as you sing the hooks in your car on the way home.
