Valves, Vinyl & Jazz | QUADROPHONIC (feat. album: Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon)

Wednesday, 11th September @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Free

Each month will see a classic album presented by pro audio engineer Haden Boardman, followed by interpretations of classic tracks by talented house jazz band Pretty Standard.

An icon of recorded arts, Pink Floyd’s 1973 concept album Dark Side Of The Moon was recorded at the equally iconic EMI Abbey Road Studio, pushing the limits of multi-track recording and music technology at the time. The record explores themes of conflict, greed, time, death, and mental illness.‚Äč

Pink Floyd had been using a ‘Quadrophonic’ surround system at their live gigs, and as such, Dark Side of the Moon had been conceived as a QUADROPHONIC recording – in full surround. But very few have heard the album in its full quadrophonic glory. But tonight, YOU can!

As usual, we encourage you to bring your own vinyl to play on our amazing vintage valve and horn speaker sound system, featuring Technics SP10 broadcast deck, with fully active bi amped valve electronics. Hear your own records like never before! Come early to avoid disappointment, you’ll find us in The Holding Cell (within The Bailiff Bar at The Old Courts) Wigan.

All starts at 7:00pm

The Bailiff Bar | Entrance on King Street West | 18 and over only

Entry: No ticket required and entry is free. Seating and space is on a first come first served basis. We suggest arriving early to avoid disappointment.
