Welcoming young people to join poet Clare Shaw and the Carbon Landscape for a guided walk from Wigan Station to Wigan Flashes.
Poetry asks us to notice the world around and inside us …. join poet Clare Shaw and the Carbon Landscape for a guided walk from Wigan station to Wigan Flashes. As you leave behind the industrial architecture of Wigan for its green spaces and wetlands, Clare will guide you in some simple writing exercises which will help you to connect with the remarkable landscape around you. This walk is aimed at young people aged 16 to 25.
Clare Shaw was appointed Poet in Residence by Manchester Literature Festival and the Carbon Landscape earlier this year, and has been commissioned to write new poems inspired by her interaction with the local landscape. She has three poetry collections from Bloodaxe. Her fourth collection – winner of a Northern Writers Award – will be published in May.Free Tickets
