Ashton and Bryn Children and Young People’s Arts Festival 2019

This is a free Arts Festival for children and young people ages 6-14 yrs, every Monday to Friday. Daily workshops, 10:30-12:30pm 1-3:30pm Children may stay unaccompanied if 8 years old or over. Children ages 5-7 must be with a responsible adult at all times. Free tickets for the Ashton and Bryn Children and Young People’s Art Festival are now live to book! Artists from Cross Street Arts have created work that responds to themes of the capitalism and the environment, inspired by John Ruskin’s controversial book, ‘Unto This Last.’ In its day, the book was extremely controversial as it critiqued capitalism and its harmful effects upon the environment, an appropriate subject for our times. The show includes drawings, paintings and sculpture by artists working in Wigan and will be one of many around the country commemorating Ruskin 100 years after his death.…
