Opened in Late 2014 the Old Courts (officially Arts at the Mill CIC) is an Arts and Enterprise Centre based in the former Wigan Magistrates Court and Inland Revenue Offices on Crawford Street.

We are a centre promoting the very best in Arts and Entertainment Wigan and surrounding areas has to offer, with 3 Live Venues, Arts Space, Recording Studios and much more.

Artists from Cross Street Arts have created work that responds to themes of the capitalism and the environment, inspired by John Ruskin’s controversial book, ‘Unto This Last.’ In its day, the book was extremely controversial as it critiqued capitalism and its harmful effects upon the environment, an appropriate subject for our times. The show includes drawings, paintings and sculpture by artists working in Wigan and will be one of many around the country commemorating Ruskin 100 years after his death.…
