The Old Courts proudly welcome the legendary blues band was formed in 1977 by Dennis Greaves withbassist Pete Clark, drummer Kenny Bradley and Harmonica player Mark Feltham. By 1978. The band startedto play the London pub circuit and develop an excellent reputation as a live act. Quickly signing to A&M records in 1980, the band gathered pace and reputation and moved in one direction only with blistering live blues shows. Amassing admirers far and wide, appearances on The Old Grey Whistle Test, The South Bank Show and a performance on the very first episode of The Young Ones cemented their status on the national Scene which included sharing the bill with The Who and being supported by Jools Holland. In short, Nine Below Zero are truly a national blues treasure.
Musical admirers and tour buddies including Sting, Ray Davies and Eric Clapton who booked the band to open for him at The Royal Albert Hall. The bands 2002/03 work culminated in the album ‘Chilled’ which was produced by legends including Sir PaulMcCartney. Such esteemed respect continued with Gary Moore joining the band for a date of the G.A.S. tour in2007 and receiving an invite to open for Chuck Berry at London’s 100 Club. The accolades and the incredible story of this band of a generation is genuinely too vast to squeeze into words. This band is highly recommended for all music fans and brings and outstanding 7 piece live show. Unmissable.
