pete shelley

Pete Shelley was lead singer and songwriter of the much-loved northern punk band, Buzzcocks. He spent his formative years in Leigh and retained a great fondness for the area. Sadly Pete died in 2018 but the stories behind all Buzzcocks’ songs from their heyday in the punk and post-punk years have been documented in ‘Ever Fallen in Love’, a book co-written with Mancunian author Louie Shelley. Pete spoke for hours in the interview for the book, and these tapes will be played on the day so you can hear Pete talking about some of his best-loved songs in his own words.
