SUMMARY:Climate. Emergency. Hope
DESCRIPTION:The Turnpike Gallery is presenting an exciting new exhibition exploring some of the urgent issues around the climate emergency. It includes a range of artwork by local\, national and international artists\, curated by a team of young people. \nOur Young Curators have been meeting since October 2022\, facilitated by creative practitioner\, Liz Postlethwaite. Arising from discussions\, presentations and gallery visits\, the exhibition aims to share young people’s voices through the work of artists. Included in the exhibition are video\, photography\, textiles\, banners\, sculpture\, text\, alongside a programme of events and activities. Artists include: Rebecca Chesney\, Robyn Woolston\, Gregory Herbert\, David Maisel\, Klaus Thymann\, Nerissa Cargill Thompson\, Amy Twigger Holroyd\, Chitra Merchant\, Helen Bendon\, Richard Shilling\, Maya Chowdhry\, Sophy King\, Jane Lawson\, Brigitte Jurack\, Carolyn Morton. \nCentral to the project is the contribution young people have made in choosing and interpreting artworks which communicate the imminent threat of climate change but also propose solutions. \nThere will be a programme of events and activities for adults\, children\, families and schools during the exhibition. But of course they fall in love and the real reason for the bet is revealed – all characters must resolve the dilemma and try to evade the clutches of the police – Lt.
