Lawrence Hoy has been writing songs for as long as he can remember; like thousands of others in the 60s he played in a rock band, but only rarely deviated from the standards to put in a song or lyric of my own.<\/p>\n
Hoy began to sing as a solo folk singer-songwriter \u2018doing the rounds\u2019 of the Singers\u2019 Nights in Folk Clubs during the 1980s; mainly because these places were the only venues where he could sing his own songs and perform his own poems. This is something he has continued to do ever since.<\/p>\n
